We stopped in Grants Pass Oregon for lunch and ended up hanging out there for 3 hours of rest even though we knew we would be late getting in for the night. The weather warmed quickly as we left California and at a rest area some people recommended we go to Crater Lake which was a little out of the way. We had also met a couple yesterday who said we would see snow if we went there, so we decided to take the extra time to ride by.
The roads today were all 2 lane mostly empty and it felt good to take the leather off for a while and enjoy the 90 degree temperatures again, but in the mountains, it seems the weather changes with every mile traveled. We did find large patches of snow and ice mainly on the northern side. There was not much else to write about today until we ran into rain as we left the park. So about 75 miles from our stop for the night we put the leather back on and rode through a brief shower mixed with hail and followed wet roads the rest of the way. Dinner in the hotel bar where we met some riders from Vegas on their own 2 week trip, tomorrow we head toward Idaho and begin making our way back to Florida.

I love all the stops at the bar at night after the long ride... I'm feeling that for sure. I may be the type that would have to hit the bar BEFORE the ride though!
